Gulf Cartel Gunmen Wound Four Mexican Cops near Texas Border

Four Mexican state police officers are recuperating from their injuries after a group of Gulf Cartel gunmen ambushed them in the border city of Matamoros. The attack comes at a time when Tamaulipas state authorities are actively hunting one of the top leaders within that criminal organization.

U.S. Consulate in Mexican Border City Issues Curfew After Days of Cartel Battles

The U.S. Consulate General in the Mexican border city of Nuevo Laredo issued a warning and curfew for its employees following three days of violence. The battles between cartel gunmen and Mexican military and law enforcement authorities led to at least 8 fatalities. In a similar fashion, the police department in Laredo, Texas, warned its citizens to avoid unnecessary travel into Mexico.

Eight Killed in Two Days of Gun Battles in Mexican Border City

A series of clashes between members of Los Zetas and the Mexican military led to a two-day span of multiple shootouts in the border city of Nuevo Laredo. At least seven gunmen and one soldier died in the firefights. The gunmen carjacked numerous vehicles and set them on fire in an attempt to block streets and set up ambushes against authorities. The tactics used by the cartel gunmen once again spread terror among residents of that city.

Mueren Ocho en Dos Dias de Balaceras en Ciudad Fronteriza Mexicana

Una serie de enfrentamientos entre miembros de Los Zetas y el ejército mexicano ha desatado numerosas balaceras en la ciudad fronteriza de Nuevo Laredo en un lapso de dos días, donde al menos siete sicarios y un soldado han muerto. Los sicarios robaron numerosos vehículos que luego incendiaron en un intento de bloquear las calles y establecer emboscadas contra las autoridades. Las tácticas utilizadas por los sicarios del cartel una vez más difundieron el terror entre los residentes de esa ciudad.

EXCLUSIVE: Alleged Smugglers Busted, Migrants Rescued at Border Stash House

U.S. Border Patrol agents, a Customs and Border Protection aircrew, and local law enforcement officers teamed up to raid a human smuggling stash house near the Texas border. The enforcement action led to the arrest of two alleged human smugglers and the recovery of ten migrants who illegally crossed the border from Mexico.

720 Pounds of Cocaine, Meth, and Fentanyl Seized at Arizona Border

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers seized nearly 723 pounds of cocaine, methamphetamine, and fentanyl worth at least $8.9 million at the Lukeville Port of Entry in Arizona. The seizures occurred during two separate vehicle inspections and resulted in the arrests of two individuals.

Border Apprehensions Drop 73 Percent in Five Months

The apprehension of migrants who illegally cross the border between ports of entry by Border Patrol agents dropped by 73 percent during the past five months. The numbers fell by nearly 100,000 from the peak in May where nearly 133,000 to just over 35,000 in October.

EXCLUSIVA: Mando de Los Zetas Lidera Célula de Secuestradores Desde Prisión

MONTERREY, Nuevo León – Un teniente de una de las facciones del cartel de Los Zetas es señalado como el presunto responsable de ordenar una serie de secuestros y extorsiones, aunque él se encuentra recluido dentro de una prisión estatal fronteriza. El narco-líder y sus secuaces han estado aterrorizando a los productores de cítricos en la parte central de Tamaulipas.
