A 48-year-old migrant from Bangladesh has been convicted in a Paris court after publicly masturbating aboard the metro in front of young women on two separate occasions.
The case came to court after a young woman filmed the migrant pleasuring himself on December 12th and posted it to social media, expressing disgust. The witness also called the Parisian public transportation company RATP, Le Figaro reports.
The man, who was sitting in front of the woman on the metro, had pulled out his penis and pleasured himself while telling the women “you are beautiful” after having followed her and offered to take her for a drink.
The video went viral on social media, which led to more women claiming to have recognised the man, including one who said he had masturbated in front of her in September while she was aboard an RER train.
Following the arrest of the Bangladeshi male, a psychiatrist claimed that he suffered from “addiction to sexual fantasies”. After being found guilty in court, the migrant was sentenced to two 500 euro fines to be given to both victims and a suspended eight-month sentence.
He is not due to be deported, despite the sexual nature of his crimes.

Sex attacks on the Paris metro system have seen a dramatic rise last year according to a report from the Paris Police Prefecture which claimed the number of sex attacks had risen by 30 per cent to 1,159 individual assaults
Laurent Nuñez, Secretary of State at the Ministry of the Interior, claimed the real numbers could be much higher stating that only around ten per cent of victims report incidents to authorities.
In March 2018, a police officer who works as a plainclothes agent on the metro told French media that the majority of those arrested for sex attacks come from migrant backgrounds.
“For more than ten years that I have done this job, the suspects I have arrested are a very, very large majority from a North African origin.,” the officer said.
