France Sending Charles de Gaulle Aircraft Carrier to Middle East

France’s nuclear powered aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle is being tasked with a support role in the Middle East to back the country’s military operations in the region, President Emmanuel Macron said Thursday. He added a protection force is being supplied by naval elements from Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Spain, and Greece.

U.S. Afghanistan Watchdog: Officials ‘Routinely Lied’ About War and Reconstruction

Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) John Sopko testified before the House Foreign Affairs Committee on Wednesday and complained about the “odor of mendacity” surrounding everything related to Afghanistan. Sopko said U.S. officials have “routinely lied” to the American public about numerous issues related to war and reconstruction in Afghanistan.

Iran Threatens ‘The American Soldier’ Today, ‘The European Soldier’ Tomorrow

NEW DELHI (AP) – Iran’s top diplomat acknowledged Wednesday that Iranians “were lied to” for days following the Islamic Republic accidentally shooting down a Ukrainian jetliner, killing 176 people, as the country’s president warned that European soldiers in the Mideast “could be in danger” after three nations challenged Tehran over breaking limits of its nuclear deal.

Dickinson College Students Vote to Ban Israeli Hummus

Dickinson College students voted recently to suspend the sale of Sabra brand hummus at campus dining facilities after student protesters linked the Israel-based company to the Israeli Defense Force. Dickinson rejected the student’s vote, stating that it has not joined boycotts of Israel in the past and “reject the current call for boycott on the same grounds.”
