Two Palestinians killed in new Israeli strike in Gaza: Hamas ministry

Gaza City (Palestinian Territories) (AFP) – Two more Palestinians were killed in an Israeli strike in the northern Gaza Strip on Tuesday, the enclave’s health ministry said, after Israel said it targeted militants preparing to fire rockets.

The deaths brought the Palestinian death toll for the day to seven, including an Islamic Jihad commander and his wife, killed in a targeted Israeli strike.

Israel says the commander was responsible for attacks against it and was planning more. It said its other strikes targeted Islamic Jihad militant sites and rocket-launching squads.
