China’s state-run Global Times on Tuesday provided an amusing demonstration of how closely Chinese Communist propagandists study left-wing American talking points by railing against the menaces of populism and nationalism supposedly flourishing under U.S. President Donald Trump and predicting the 2020 election could spark a new American civil war.

The Chinese Communist Party announced this week the creation of a universal propaganda arm named “Voice of China,” which the regime hopes will “ensure its voice is heard loud and clear around the world.”

Star Wars actor Mark Hamill has deleted his Facebook account over the social media site’s refusal to fact check political ads on its platform. According to Hamill, Mark Zuckerberg “values profit more than truthfulness” as demonstrated by his decision not to censor political ads. Facebook says its policy is based on the “principle that people should be able to hear from those who wish to lead them, warts and all, and that what they say should be scrutinized and debated in public.”
