Democrat Jon Ossoff Ousts GOP Sen. David Perdue in Georgia

ATLANTA — Democrat Senate candidate Jon Ossoff defeated Sen. David Perdue (R-GA) by a narrow margin in what became the Democrats’ second victory in Georgia’s dual runoff races on Tuesday, which were set to determine which party takes control of the Senate.

Supporters of President Donald Trump staged demonstrations at the Capitols of multiple states on Wednesday, with some entering the statehouses, as crowds storm the U.S. Capitol building in Washington, DC, to protest the certification of the Electoral College votes, which would officially declare Joe Biden the winner of the presidential election.

Claire McCaskill: Trump, Hawley, Cruz Gave Democrats the Senate

Former Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) said Wednesday on MSNBC that President Donald Trump, Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO), and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) by disputing the results of the 2020 presidential election handed control of the Senate to Democrats if Raphael Warnock (D-GA) and Jon Ossoff (D-GA) emerge victoriously.
