Twitter Removes 4,800 Accounts Linked to Iranian Government

Twitter announced on Thursday it has shuttered some 4,800 accounts with ties to the government of Iran. The accounts were engaged in spreading disinformation and propaganda that “benefited the diplomatic and geostrategic views of the Iranian state.”

China and Russia Stand up for Iran After Gulf Tanker Attacks

Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed solidarity with Iran on Friday, even as the U.S. Navy revealed evidence the Iranians were behind the terrorist attack on two oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman.

Yemeni Rebels Hit Saudi Airport as Japanese PM Heads to Iran

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — Yemen’s Iran-allied rebels said they launched a cruise missile Wednesday at a Saudi airport, an attack the kingdom said hit the airport’s arrivals hall and wounded 26 people, just hours before Japan’s prime minister was expected in Iran for a historic visit aimed at defusing tensions in the Persian Gulf.

Iran Unveils New Locally Developed Air Defense System

TEL AVIV — Iran on Sunday unveiled a locally developed missile defense system that it claims can intercept six projectiles simultaneously as well as target fighter jets and enemy drones from a distance of 75 miles, state media reported.
