Representatives of the Taliban jihadist organization told Afghan media outlets on Sunday that the goal of their participation in peace talks held this weekend in Doha, Qatar, with the legitimate Afghan government and the United States was to negotiate the liberation of Taliban jihadists and a return of Islamic law to the country.

Top U.S. General Warns of Islamic State Resurgence In Syrian Prison Camps

Marine General Kenneth McKenzie, head of the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), said during an online forum on Wednesday that he is concerned about a resurgence of the Islamic State in Syria’s prison camps. McKenzie recommended repatriating foreign ISIS prisoners as quickly as possible and working to deradicalize them once they have returned to their countries of origin.
