Republicans Take Victory Lap After Iowa Democrat Drops Partisan Challenge to Overturn Election

The House Republican campaign arm, National Republican Campaign Committee (NRCC), released a memo touting their victory over Iowa Democrat Rita Hart, who lost the 2020 election to Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R-IA) and subsequently attempted to have the result overturned in the Committee on House Administration, after she withdrew her partisan challenge late Wednesday.

McCarthy: If Gaetz Allegations True, ‘We Would Remove Him’ from Judiciary Committee 

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) said Wednesday on Fox News Channel’s “America’s Newsroom” that Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) would be removed from the House Judiciary Committee if the allegations printed by The New York Times of a federal investigation into a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old and paid her to travel with him turn out to be true.
